Privacy Policy

GDPR

StoryCurrentWorks (“we”, “us”), registered at Striegauer Straße 10, 27576 Bremerhaven, Germany, is the controller of personal data collected through this website. Contact for data matters: [email protected].

1.1 What we collect

We process identity and contact details you provide (name, email, phone, company), project brief content, and technical logs (IP address, user agent, referring page) required to operate the site securely.

1.2 Purposes & legal bases

Data is processed to respond to inquiries and deliver contracted copywriting services (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to comply with tax and commercial record-keeping (Art. 6(1)(c)), to protect the site against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) legitimate interest), and — only where you opt in — to send studio updates (Art. 6(1)(a) consent).

1.3 Retention

Inquiry data is retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Contractual and invoicing records are kept for 10 years as required by German commercial and tax law. You may request earlier erasure where no statutory retention applies.

1.4 Recipients & transfers

Data is hosted within the European Economic Area. Processors (email delivery, hosting, Stripe for payments) act under Art. 28 data-processing agreements. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. Where a transfer outside the EEA occurs, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

1.5 Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (Arts. 15–21 GDPR), and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as defined by the CCPA/CPRA — we do not sell personal data. Exercise rights by emailing [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Germany: the state data protection authority competent for our seat).

1.6 Children

Our services are directed at business clients and are not intended for children under 16; we do not knowingly collect their data.

Terms of Service

ToS

These terms govern engagements between clients and StoryCurrentWorks, Striegauer Straße 10, 27576 Bremerhaven, Germany (“Studio”, “we”). By commissioning a service, paying an invoice, or accepting a proposal, you agree to these terms.

2.1 Scope & proposals

Each engagement is defined in a written proposal or statement of work listing deliverables, price, revision rounds, and turnaround. Where no separate SOW exists, the package description on our website and the details in your confirmed brief control. Estimates become binding once confirmed in writing (email sufficient).

2.2 Fees & payment

Prices are quoted in USD or EUR as stated on the invoice and exclude applicable VAT unless noted. Fifty percent (50%) of project fees are due to begin work; the balance is due prior to final file delivery unless otherwise agreed. Invoices are payable within 14 days. Late payments may accrue statutory default interest and may pause delivery. Secure checkout is available via our payment link (Stripe).

2.3 Client responsibilities

You will provide accurate brand materials, product facts, access credentials (when needed), and timely feedback. Delayed feedback extends delivery dates by at least the length of the delay. You warrant that materials you supply do not infringe third-party rights.

2.4 Revisions & acceptance

Each package includes the revision rounds stated in your proposal (default: two rounds within 14 days of each draft). Additional rounds or out-of-scope changes are billed at the then-current hourly rate. Deliverables are deemed accepted if no substantive written feedback is received within 10 business days of delivery.

2.5 Intellectual property

Upon receipt of full payment, we assign to you all economic rights in the final, approved deliverables created specifically for you, excluding our pre-existing tools, frameworks, and know-how, which remain ours and are licensed to you for unlimited use of the final deliverables. Until payment, all drafts remain our property.

2.6 Confidentiality

Both parties will keep non-public business information confidential for three years after the engagement ends. We may reference your brand name and non-confidential outcomes in our portfolio unless you opt out in writing.

2.7 Liability & law

We exclude liability for indirect damages and cap aggregate liability at the fees paid for the affected engagement, except for intent, gross negligence, or mandatory statutory liability (e.g. personal injury). German law applies; the place of jurisdiction is Bremerhaven, subject to mandatory consumer protections. EU consumers may also sue in their home jurisdiction where the law so permits.

Refund Policy

RFN

We want every engagement with StoryCurrentWorks (Striegauer Straße 10, 27576 Bremerhaven, Germany) to feel fair and transparent. This Refund Policy describes when payments can be returned.

4.1 Cool-off for EU consumers

If you are an EU consumer entering a distance contract, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. For digital services, that right ends once performance begins with your express prior consent and acknowledgment that you lose the right after full performance. You can request withdrawal by emailing [email protected] before work has substantially started.

4.2 Project deposits

If you cancel before work begins, the initial deposit (typically 50%) is fully refundable. Once drafting has started, we retain a pro-rata portion of fees corresponding to work completed and time reserved, and refund the remainder within 14 days of the cancellation notice.

4.3 Delivery failures

If we miss an agreed delivery deadline by more than 10 business days without an approved extension — or abandon the work — you may elect a full refund of amounts paid for the undelivered scope, or a re-delivery plan at no extra cost. This is your exclusive remedy for non-performance, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

4.4 Satisfaction adjustments

If deliverables materially deviate from the approved brief after the included revision rounds, notify us within 14 days of delivery. We will revise at no cost or, if we cannot cure, issue a partial refund proportional to the non-conforming portion.

4.5 Non-refundable items

Completed and accepted milestones, rush fees for expedited turnaround already executed, third-party costs (e.g. stock licenses, specialized tools) already incurred, and hours spent on client-delayed feedback are non-refundable.

4.6 How to request a refund

Email [email protected] with your project name, invoice number, and a short description of the issue. We acknowledge within 2 business days and decide within 10 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.
